Rachel Platten brings her ‘Fight Song’ to 4-H Fair Grandstand stage

Empowered the by her inspirational “Fight Song” single, pop singer-songwriter Rachel Platten will bring her entertaining musical style to the Elkhart County 4-H Fair,

Platten, who began her career performing in coffee shops around New York City, will take to the 4-H grandstand stage for a show Wednesday, July 28, 2018.

Grandstand seats for are free with the Fair admission ticket, but $35 reserved track seats will go on sale Monday, May 7 at Noon.

While looking to find the right niche for her talents, Platten’s triple-platinum hit “Fight Song” emerged from an intensive period of songwriting where she compiled the aspirational anthem and finding her true voice with the powerful hit, which soared to No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list.  The singer, who’s been lauded for her cathartic live shows, has won multiple awards, including the 2016 Daytime EMMY Awards for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Talk Show/Morning Program for her television debut performance of the number on Good Morning America.

Platten’s 2017 surge included taking the stage as the opening act for three shows — two in Los Angeles and one in Las Vegas — for Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s “Soul2Soul:’ The World Tour.” In October of ’17, Platten released her second full-length album for Columbia Records, “Waves.”

Citing Waves as an honest effort at “showing her range of emotions,” the new album — featuring a searing single in “Broken Glass” — also reflects the winding journey of a female singer/songwriter who has earned her place as one of pop’s more spirited and authentic voices.

Hailed by TIME Magazine as “a torchbearer or woman’s empowerment,”Platten takes it all in stride. “With everything that’s happened to me I realized there is no top,” says Rachel.  “You just circle it.  I have so much more I want to do.”

Platten’s gold-certified, major label debut album “Wildfire,” released by Columbia Records in 2016, launching the platinum Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Stand By You.”
