It’s The Final Day Of The Fair, And We’ll Go Out With A Bang

_LRT9090It’s day nine and the final day of the 2016 Elkhart County 4-H Fair, but there’s plenty to do and see today, between food, cars, dancing, rides and fun.

Today’s high is predicted to only be about 80, and there’s a chance of afternoon showers.

In addition to all the clubs and vendors on Famous Food Row and around the grounds, from this morning until noon there’s a ribs contest in the 4-H Lamb Barn, the chicken barbecue contest in the 4-H Poultry Barn and the ice cream crank-off in the Home and Family Arts Building.

The Midway is open from noon until 11 p.m., and it’s a wristband day, with all-you-can-ride wristbands on sale until 4:30 for $25. The wristbands expire at 6 p.m. today, though rides will be open until 11 p.m. at regular price.

This morning is the Corvette Show in the Sheep/Swine Arena, as well as the Classic Car Cruise-In from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the infield behind the grandstand main stage.

And of course, the fair will once again go out with a big bang, — or a few of them, with the Nation-Wide Demolition Derby starting at 7 p.m. at the grandstands.

  1. I’m highly disappointed with the sales of the wristbands today. I agree I should have did my research follow the use of them today but I spent 100 on four wristband at alittle after 4 I bought two then decide since the lines were down and the ticket both to buy two more at 430. No one mentioned they were only good til 6 or I would have bought all tickets. I promised my kids all week that I would bring them to the fair and allow then to ride and they rode one ride . Because I didn’t know and I decide to feed them and walk around so they could see every ride plotting out their evening. Then we were in line at 6 and they there informed me we could not ride. I’m sick to my stomach when I went back to the ticket both she pointed out a small sign on the window . I saved all week to give my children a fun day at the fair. I gave 100 for one ride. So disappointed! Shannon Price
