Have You Seen The WWII-Era Equipment By The Gate?

IMG_6298One of this year’s new additions to the Elkhart County 4-H Fair is a display of World War II-era equipment set up by Gate G, the busiest gate into the fairgrounds and the one where the parking shuttles drop people off.

Craig Morehead, himself a veteran, owns the Sherman tank, and yes, it operates. The Sherman (officially the M4 Medium Tank) was mass produced and a major player for the U.S., British and Soviet militaries during WWII. The U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps both used it extensively.

  1. Elkhart County 4-H fair is a wonderful place for everyone to visit. How can we encourage people to be cleaner and neater? The fair provides trash cans and recycle containers, but people still leave their trash on the bleachers and the ground. Thanks to all who do help clean up and are being respectful for others who do care what the fairgrounds look like!
