Former Fair Queen Competing For Miss USA — You Can Help

Mekayla Diehl was the 2007 Elkhart County 4-H Fair Queen, and she earned the crown to become Miss Indiana USA 2014 in November. She will soon compete in this year’s Miss USA pageant. The pageant airs live on NBC at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

Viewers can vote for their favorite contestant via Twitter to secure her place in the final round. To vote for Diehl, here are instructions provided by

• Tune into NBC at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, and listen for the cue to vote.

• Make sure your Twitter account is set to public, or your vote won’t be counted.

• Follow the on-air instructions to cast your vote by tweeting using the hashtag #savethequeen and the word Indiana. The state must be spelled correctly, but it’s not case-sensitive.

• There is a limit of 10 votes per Twitter account. Only votes that are received during the announced voting period will be counted.

• Voting will close upon the host’s announcement at the end of the evening gown competition.
