After a Tuesday Dip, Fairgoers Are Back In Droves

crowd 1What a difference a day (or really, a day’s weather) makes.

After Tuesday’s warm weather brought out only 16,980 people to the fairgrounds, yesterday’s more mild temperatures brought out just shy of 30,000 people to the fairgrounds for Kids Day, the Justin Moore Concert and the rest of a day full of entertainment and education.

crowd2While the heat index in the mid-90s Tuesday led to the lowest Tuesday crowd over the last several years, Wednesday was back on par with what we normally see on Kids Day, coming in right at the middle attendance-wise over the last decade.

With superb weather forecast for today’s tractor pull (always a major event), tomorrow’s rodeo performances and 4-H auction and Saturday’s motorcycle races and demolition derby, attendance will likely remain strong through the rest of the fair.  After all, with today’s high only expected to reach 76, tomorrow 78 and Saturday not hitting above the mid 80s, who wouldn’t want to get outside and enjoy the unusually cool July weather?
